Floor Care Tips and Advice
Find Our More on Fitting Floors in Central London
Kersaint Cobb Engineered Floor Fitting in Central London
This is a study case from one of our recent projects. We had to supply and install approx. 62 sqm of oak engineered flooring in rustic grade and 70 linear meters of prefinished beading. The planks were also prefinished with hardwearing sealant from the manufacturer – Kersaint Cobb.
This project took our guys 2 days, which included also trimming the door frames to adjust their size to the new flooring level. On the site visit prior to starting the project, our surveyor inspected the level and condition of the subfloor because it’s crucial for the solidness of the floating installation. In fact, subfloor preparation is part of the fitting process that determines the success of the entire project.
In this case, floorboards condition was good enough so they can be used in addition to them the client preferred to have an underlay with increased soundproofing and damp proofed membrane – Duralay SilentFloor Gold. Good to know is that the engineered floors like this have high levels of water resistance, which combined with the DMP underlay is a guarantee for not having issues due to damp and moisture.
As you can see from the photos of this project the house appearance is completely different from this new stylish and trendy wooden floor.
Installation And Staining Of Pine Flooring in Central London
After we received a call from the owner of this house for a free site visit and flooring inspection, our surveyor knew that we would be more than happy to undertake this project. Every homeowner would be more than glad to have such a beautiful pine flooring in their house. The process went pretty smoothly - we installed the floorboards, sanded and buffed them.
Here's where the benefits of having a hardwood flooring came through - you get a lot of great options when it comes to customization. You can pretty much colour it any way you want - as long as you think that would be the best fit for your interior. If you have a rough idea about what colour you want - a small portion of the floor is coloured with the stains of your choosing. This is done before the final sanding is done, in order to help you see what your floor would look like, but without the hassle of thinking about how to cover up any differently coloured areas on your floor. Once the entire area is sanded, the stain of your choosing is applied to the flooring and afterwards it has to be sealed with a durable lacquer. In this occasion, the lacquer that was chosen was Juncker's HP Commercial in a matt sheen.
