Oak Parquet Floor Installation, Sanding and Refinishing in Clapton
Big home improvement projects may seem overwhelming at first. Sometimes dealing with major wood floor projects is stressful, however, having a beautiful wooden floor installed and ensuring proper upkeep always ensures a return of investment. And the final result always worth it. With this recent oak wood floor installation, refinishing, and sanding project we were, once again, able to prove that investing in a beautiful wooden floor and maintaining it properly is great and is the reason to achieve stunning results.
Like you can tell by the photos, we were challenged to undertake a major wood floor fitting and refinishing project that requires a lot of experience and knowledge in different aspects of the real wood flooring field. We have had three main goals with this project – installation of a new high-quality oak wood flooring we supplied from a leading manufacturer in the industry; sanding, and refinishing of the wooden floor to enhance its natural beauty and ensure durability and protection, and taking care of all flooring accessories for a complete and sleek look.
We have started the project by installing a new oak flooring and all required floor accessories in this house. Before the new floor is installed, it is necessary to make sure the subfloor is in perfect condition so we can continue with fitting the new floor on top of it and guarantee a long-lasting, hard-wearing, and high-quality flooring structure. Many subfloors would require an additional layer of plywood underlayment that adds additional durability to the flooring structure and works as a moisture barrier that protects the wooden floorboards. In case the subfloor is not meeting the requirements, a wood flooring specialist should take care of it first and ensure it is dry, clean, and level. Once the new floor is installed and all flooring accessories are in place, we can continue with sanding and refinishing the floorboards.
First things first, before sanding, refinishing, and staining the floor, we need to make sure it is in perfect condition. Filling in all gaps between the floorboards for better structural integrity and improved insulation is performed at this point of the process. Sanding until a smooth surface is the next step of the process. Once the surface of the floor is treated, we can continue with the finishing jobs. The staining of a wooden floor enhances the natural beauty of wood species and can completely transform the appearance of the floor, make it look brand-new. Finally, lacquering the floor strengthens its protection and guarantees you will be able to enjoy your floor for many decades.
